1.For some reason Carmelo Anthony has a bit of a humorous streak. When he was in school, he got detention for introducing himself to students and teachers as Tyrone, his reason behind this is because they could not say Carmelo.
2. As a member of Michigan State's "Fab Five" Chris Webber was a stud on the court. In two years with the Wolverines Chris Webber averaged 17.4 points and 10 rebounds. He got drafted 1st pick and went to the Orlando Magic in 1993 he immediately got traded to the Warriors for Penny Hardaway. Not a lot of people knew that the Warriors had not drafted an NBA Hall of Famer.
3. The NBA was first known as the Basketball Association of America in 1946. One team was called the Providence Steamrollers. The franchise lasted 3 years putting a cumulative record of 40 wins and 122 losses.
4. Before the Toronto Raptors and the Vancouver Grizzlies were the first teams that were in the NBA but not part of the US, the Toronto Huskies was the first international team in the NBA. The franchise only lasted 1 season and had a record of 22-38.
5. Mugsy Bouges was the smallest NBA player to ever play. He was 5'3 and he averaged 8.3 points a game and 6.6 assists.
