Donovan Vernell Mitchell Jr. was born on September 7, 1996.He was born and raised in Elmsford,New York. His parents names were Donovan Mitchell Sr. and Nicole Mitchell. Donovan only had one sister who's name was Jordan Mitchell.He attended Greenwich Country Day School.He played A.A.U. basketball for The City and Riverside Hawks programs out of New York. The team that he played for in college was the Louisville Cardinals.In the 2017 N.B.A.( National Basketball Association) Draft Donovan Mitchell was selected the 13th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets. Then later that night the Denver Nuggets traded him to the Utah Jazz. In his first year of being in the N.B.A.( National Basketball Association) he won the R.O.T.Y.(Rookie of the Year Award) and the Slam Dunk Contest. I picked Donovan Mitchell as the player of the month because he is really good at basketball at such a yong age.
